In October 2015 MTS teamed up with Director Martine Burt and Jacinta from Elevate to offer a free Legally Blonde Workshop. Over the course of an afternoon the participants were put through their paces with a fun dance routine as well as enjoying singing numbers from this fab show. We hope you all enjoyed it!
Dance for musical theatre with Elevate Dance
In April 2014 members and friends of MTS enjoyed the chance to work on iconic routines such as Cats and A Chorus Line with Jacinta Landon of Elevate Dance. Jacinta is experienced in all kinds of dance but has a particular love of Musical Theatre and both workshops were energetic and rewarding. Thanks JC for a brilliant day.
You may recognise Fra from the film adaptation of Les Miserables, in which he played Courfeyrac. Fra’s other theatre credits include: Candide (Menier Chocolate Factory); A Man of No Importance (Salisbury Playhouse); Follies (Opéra de Toulon); Howard Goodall’s A Winter’s Tale (Landor Theatre) and Les Miserables (Queens Theatre).
MTS has had the pleasure of hosting two workshops with Fra, one in April 2013 and one in March 2014. Both workshops focused on Les Miserables.
All the participants really enjoyed the opportunity to perform songs from one of everyone’s favourite musicals, and to learn from a professional who has appeared in Les Miserables in the West End. Thanks Fra for a brilliant experience!
Musical Theatre with Ian Good
Ian came to MTS in June 2013 to run a general Musical Theatre workshop. Ian has a vast array of theatre credits including: UK Supervisor the UK tour of Hairspray the Musical and regularly directing productions at Arts Educational Schools, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and Guildhall among other drama Schools.
The workshop was a tremendous success with 11 participants and a large audience who all clearly enjoyed the evening.
Vocal Masterclass with Helen Porter
Helen is a composer, singer and voice coach. She ran two workshops with MTS in October 2012. One focused on Soloist work and the other on Choral singing. Helen looked at various aspects of technique and performance and all the participants found the workshop to be really rewarding and productive.
